Today Pen started at her big girl school, Near North Montessori. The morning was filled with excitement and anticipation. She wanted a ride on daddy's shoulders to the front door. It's their thing and her comfort zone. I am glad she asked and glad that dad obliged. Loved the photo opp too.
She did well, hesitated at the classroom door but made her way in to meet the hermit crab in the classroom. Before I knew it, she had let go of my hand and started making conversation with one of the teachers on the subject. We escaped without incident.
No tears, from any of us. First day considered a success.
